RMSC sets another National Age Group Record 12/12/15

The 9-10 girls of the Rockville-Montgomery Swim Club have broken yet another 9-10 National Age Group Relay record, though the latest foursome looked a little different than the one that did so in November.

The team of Jessie FengSydney AllenNina Allen, and Amy Lamb combined for a 1:48.00 in the 200 yard freestyle relay, which broke the old record of 1:49.59 that they did on November 7th.

The team’s old leadoff, Joyce Wu, aged up since the last relay, and she was replaced by Femg as the team broke the record by a second-and-a-half.

The team’s splits on Saturday at the RMSC Invitational:

  • Feng – 28.87
  • Sydney Allen – 27.52
  • Nina Allen – 25.25
  • Lamb – 26.32

As compared to the splits the last time they swam:

  • Wu – 28.18
  • Sydney Allen – 28.47
  • Nina Allen – 26.07
  • Amy Lamb – 26.87

Huge improvements by the Allen sisters really brought this relay to the next level, while Lamb chipped in a half-second drop of her own.

“These four girls have all had incredibleindividual swims this weekend, but their best effort so far came during the 200 free relay,” RMSC MLK Jr. Swim Site head coach Brian Cheng said. “True to the form and spirit of RMSC tradition, their best swims occurred when they were swimming for each other.  We are so proud of these girls not only as swimmers, but also as great teammates and outstanding people. We can’t wait to see what they do together as teammates next.”
