In September, RMSC was named as a USA Swimming Safe Sport Recognized Club, which was the culmination of a lengthy process that involved coordinating the training of hundreds of our swimmers, parents, and coaches. Largely responsible for this coordination was RMSC Senior Jonathan Lei, who assumed the role of our PVS SafeSport Committee Athlete Representative. Jonathan arranged for various trainings and seminars provided by PVS and USA Swimming that our Club was able to benefit from, and which ultimately led to our Club’s Recognition.
But recently, it was Jonathan’s turn to be recognized. His contribution to our club was so great that USA Swimming decided to honor his accomplishments at the 2025 USA Swimming Foundation Awards Luncheon, which took place at the USA Swimming Annual Summit in Denver, Colorado. At the Luncheon, Jonathan received the USA Swimming Impact Award, for his efforts in working with so many members of our Club and helping us earn such an important certification. RMSC thanks Jonathan for his vision and hard work, but even in his moment of recognition, Jonathan and his family consider this a team award due to the support of the team, and the participation of over 1000 RMSC swimmers and parents in earning the Certification.
Congratulations to Jonathan, and thank you for everything you have done for RMSC!
