Four RMSC swimmers competed in the highest-level Summer culminating meet in the Nation, the USA Swimming Speedo Summer Championships, held August 3-7. Due to capacity reasons, the meet was split into an East and a West site, with our swimmers travelling to Greensboro, NC for their half of the meet. Each of our four swimmers made finals appearances by placing in the top 32 in their events.
Adriano Arioti was 14th in 200 fly (2:02.71), and finished top 32 in 400 IM. Sean Santos was 15th in 1500 free (16:10.10) and added a top 24 finish in 400 free. Toby Barnett had three top 24 finishes, breaking RMSC team records in 15-16 200 breast (2:20.97) and 200 IM (2:07.13), with the 35 year-old 200 IM record now formerly held by U.S. Olympian Mike Barrowman. Pierre Zeineddin added a top 24 finish in 200 fly (2:04.45).
The foursome also finished 15th in the 400 free relay.
